Introduction to Executive Team Development

During the past 20+ years we have worked with many executive teams from several industries. Our experience and research results with executive teams can be illustrated by the following model by W. Cook. Consider the "A" and "C" like a grade given in school.

A man & two women talking. Many executives we meet with, initially agree with the first scenario where an average team with a superior product or services can only expect a slightly better than average outcome. Interestingly, we find that many executives initially find the second scenario more difficult to accept. How could a superior team get superior results with only an average product or service? At first glance this may seem to be counter intuitive. Our experience has compelled us to say with a resounding affirmation, that this is indeed the case! The third scenario is a CEO's dream. In partnership with the executive team, our proven processes help make this happen.

Many organizations are willing to put significant resources and energy into improving their product or service and yet are not as inclined to work on the highest leverage opportunity they have, the executive team! The executive team is (or ought to be) where the action is. This is where most opportunities lie.

Although each situation is different, we have some common elements in our process that have helped executive teams get to that "A" level.
